The Solid State Logic UC1 is a console-style hardware control surface designed for fast, intuitive, knob-per-function control of the included SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins. These plug-ins feature precise digital modeling, external sidechain triggering, and various user-requested improvements. Whether used on its own or paired with the UF8 (sold separately), the UC1 combines the ergonomic workflow of SSL's renowned analog consoles with the exceptional sonic quality of their plug-ins.

Connecting the UC1 to your Mac or Windows computer is simple using either of the included USB cables (Type-C or Type-A). You can switch between up to three DAWs, such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live, with ease. Equipped with smart LED rings, 16-segment I/O meters, and a moving-coil Bus Compressor meter, the UC1 provides real-time, continuous visual feedback. You can change routing, load presets, and control multiple plug-ins at once using the SSL 360 deg software.

The center section offers full Bus Compressor controls, complete with an authentic moving-coil gain reduction meter. Channel Strip and Bus Compressor Controls

The UC1 provides dedicated controls for all essential Channel Strip 2 plug-in parameters, including EQ, filters, compressor, and gate/expander. The configuration and visual feedback mirror that of SSL's large-format consoles, making it easy to find your channel processing sweet spot.

At the core of the UC1 is the Bus Compressor control section. Its layout and metering replicate the experience of controlling a hardware bus compressor integrated into an SSL console. With an authentic moving-coil gain reduction meter-representing the compressor's time constants and gain reduction behavior-you'll have precise visual feedback on how the compressor interacts with your instruments, subgroups, and mix bus.

SSL Plug-Ins Included

The UC1 comes with full licenses for the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plug-ins. Channel Strip 2 is a comprehensive channel strip based on digital modeling of the EQ and dynamics curves from the iconic XL 9000 K SuperAnalogue console. Version 2 adds SSL's proprietary anti-cramping algorithms and supports external sidechain triggering. Bus Compressor 2 builds on user feedback, offering additional ratio, attack, and release options, external sidechain triggering, and x2 and x4 oversampling for even more control.
