The Neve 1073DPD combines two legendary Class A 1073(R) microphone preamplifiers with flexible 192kHz digital output - all housed in a single rack unit. Renowned for its warm, musical sound, the 1073DPD pairs classic analogue circuitry with pristine high-resolution digital conversion, making it an exceptional front-end for modern digital recording systems.

This unit features Neve-quality A/D conversion with 24-bit/192kHz output via AES or DSD protocols. Sync options through AES or word clock ensure easy integration with a wide range of digital recording setups. Its analogue and digital outputs run in parallel and independently, allowing simultaneous capture in both formats.

An ADC insert (TRS) provides access to the DPD's premium converters, enabling any external analogue gear to benefit from Neve's high-quality A/D conversion. This also allows outboard processors to be inserted into the signal path - for example, routing the analogue output through a compressor and back into the ADC input for seamless digital capture.

The input and output stages feature exclusive Marinair(R) transformers, delivering the unmistakable classic Neve(R) 1073(R) tone. True to its heritage, the 1073DPD retains a discrete, Class A design with through-hole construction and transistor-based amplifiers.

The preamp's stepped Elma gain switch offers precise control across the gain range, eliminating the need for a separate mic/line switch. Three gain stages, driven by two independent transistor preamps, provide ample headroom for DI, line, or microphone inputs. The 1073DPD delivers up to 80dB of microphone gain, and its output trim allows the unit to be driven harder for rich harmonic saturation and musical character.

Selectable input impedances of 1.2k ohm and 300 ohm make the unit compatible with a wide variety of modern and vintage microphones. A 180 deg phase flip is also included, ideal for multi-mic setups such as top and bottom snare applications.
